about me
The British Invasion and emerging American Rock Groups had a huge early influence on Gregg. So much so, that at the age of seven, he requested a guitar every week for six months. By age 8, he began formal guitar studies and by the age of 10, was playing in bands and composing music. Simultaneously he began studying Classical Guitar in New York City studying through his teenage years. Gregg also played Oboe through his teen years in Band and Orchestra.
His taste in music expanded through and post college years where he found a growing interest in "Modern Fingerstyle Guitar" with strong influences from
Michael Hedges, Tommy Emmanuel, William Ackerman, Peppino D'Agostino, Doug Smith, Earl Klugh and others.
Fingerstyle playing allows for an expanded range of technique like slapped harmonics, neck bends, tapping, to name just a few. His compositions make use of alternate tunings, broadening the color palate and extending the tonal range of the instrument, creating endless possibilities for discovery. Gregg hopes his audience will find these composition interesting and engaging.
